Route highlights:
This tour leads us through the oldest National Park in Bulgaria established in 1934 called Vitosha, famous for the natural stone river called Moreni whose origins are unknown. From the top of the Mountain, we can enjoy a nice panoramic view over the nearest ridges, valleys, lowlands, lakes, main ridges of Balkan Mt., which gave the name of Balkan Peninsula and also Bulgarian capital Sofia.
We start with а meeting at the place of your accommodation. We’ll head to Vitosha Mountains.
We drive up to Aleko Hut, get instructions about the basics of snowshoeing and from there we’ll pick up a trail to practice your skill and see if you’re fit for snowshoeing. If the weather conditions are nice you will have great panorama views of Sofia and the surrounding areas.
We descend back to the car. Drive back to Sofia to your place of accommodation.
