Summary
On this tour you will be walking on South East Europe’s highest mountain ranges – Rila and Pirin with their absolute highlights: the Seven Rila Lakes hike and the climb to the marble ridge of Vihren Peak. Not only is the altitude spectacular and the landscapes magnificent, but both ranges are National Parks, rich in flora and fauna. For example in Pirin Mountains you might even come across Edelweiss flower – the symbol of alpinism and mountain hiking.

Day by day itinerary:
Day 1: Welcome to Bulgaria
Arrive at Sofia Airport. Transfer to Govedartsi, a transfer for about 1,30 hours.
Overnight: Govedartsi village, family run hotel
Day 2: Hike to the Roof of the Balkans – Musala Peak
Transfer to Borovets resort. Take the cabin lift up.
Walk from Yastrebets Cabin lift to Musala Peak and back.
Walking time: 6 hours. + 650m; – 650m.
Overnight: Govedartsi village, family run hotel
Day 3: Hike to Maliovitsa Peak
Hike from the Mountaineering school to Malyovitsa peak.
Walking time: 6 hours. + 900m; – 900m.
Overnight: Govedartsi village, family run hotel
Day 4: Hike to The Seven Rila Lakes
Walk from Hut Vada to the area of the Seven Rila Lakes.
Walking time: 6 hours. + 700m; – 700m.
Overnight: Govedartsi village, family run hotel
Day 5: Rila Monastery
Transfer to Rila Monastery.
Visit ot Rila monastery – UNESCO heritage site.
Transfer to Bansko city, located at the foothill of the Pirin Mountains.
Accommodation in Bansko in a 3 star family hotel.
Overnight: Bansko town, family run hotel
Day 6: Hike to Vihren Peak
Walk from Hut Vihren (1950m) to the second highest peak in Bulgaria – Mt Vihren 2914m. Finish at the oldest tree in Bulgaria the Baikusheva Mura (more than 1300 years old).
Walking time: 6 – 8 hours. + 1000m; – 1000m.
Overnight: Bansko town, family run hotel
Day 7:Todorina Porta Mountain Pass
Hike from Hut Vihren (1950m). through Todorina porta and finish at hut Demianitsa.
Walking time: 7 hours. + 600m; – 1300m.
Overnight: Bansko town, family run hotel
Day 8: Back to Sofia
Transfer to Sofia, a transfer for about 2,30 hours.
Arrive at Sofia Airport and check in for your return flight.
